Calvin Harris and Rihanna might be one of the most dynamite collaborations in popular music.

With a track record that includes the inescapable early 2010s radio singles ‘Where Have You Been’ and ‘We Found Love,’ it’s no wonder the Scottish electronic dance music DJ/producer was keen to keep the winning combination going.

Released April 29th, ‘This Is What You Came For’ marks the pair’s third collaboration and sees Harris firing off nearly every trope in the entire genre of dance music in the span of four minutes, with surprisingly addictive results. There are big old-school house synth bars, classic clap buildups approaching the track’s climaxes, and even elements of downtempo in the chorus drops and opening chimes.

Seemingly the only thing missing from the collaboration was a visual to showcase Rihanna’s mind-blowing beauty. This has since been remedied. Directed by Emil Nava, the newly-released clip gives the Barbados-born queen free reign to feel the music as neon lasers light the dancefloor and scenes are projected on the inside walls of the cube around her.
