After all, Cash Money has some very notable and talented signees including Limp Bizkit and Paris Hilton – because who hasn’t blasted ‘Rollin‘ out of a Diahatsu hatchback with all the windows down at the local KFC carpark? It should be noted that Cash Money also houses hip-hop heavyweights like Drake and Nicki Minaj (goddess) under the Young Money imprint. And while YMCMB’s biggest star, Lil Wayne is currently embroiled in a multi-million tiff with Birdman, it seems like the rap mogul isn’t having any trouble sleeping. In fact, he says that he sleeps on $1 million cash underneath a Versace bedspread.
Birdman – famous for his ‘Handrub‘ and being unable to pronounce the word ‘Respect‘ – stepped into ESPN to confirm the longstanding rumours that he sleeps on a plentiful wad of cash as a mattress. What’s more, he does so with a Medusa-lined bedspread and is succeeding more than both you and I in every way possible.
“I still sleep on a million dollar cash. That’s just an infatuation for me in life. I do that and I’m gonna do that until I die. I got a million dollars on my mattress under my sheets. I just feel the need to do that. I was fortunate enough to be blessed enough to do it. I sleep on it every night with my Versace bedspread on top of it,” he said on the channel’s Highly Questionable program.
Birdman isn’t the only hip-hop figure to do ignorant things with money – Lil Boosie swam in a pool of hundred dollar bills for some reason, while Trey Songz was arrested for assault after throwing a bundle of cash at a woman in a strip club.
Since the interview, Lil Wayne has gone onto Twitter to ~subliminally~ question Birdman’s claims, but Birdman dropped one of 2014’s biggest bangers from Rich Gang so we have an inkling that he may be kind of rich. We’re going to cry ourselves to sleep on our pathetic peasant mattresses for the rest of the evening, while you can watch his Highly Questionable interview below:
