Departing from Singapore on November 4 for three days, It’s The Ship has Aussie acts aplenty: Heavy bass favourites Knife Party will be bringing the wobbles, while party-starters Peking Duk will be returning once again after last year’s effort. Locals Marlo, Benson and Joel Fletchers also appear on the bill. Banana enthusiasts Dada Life and Asian rap squadron Far East Movement are just some of the other highlights – but just to make things extra special, none other than David fuckin’ Hasselhoff has been announced as the ship’s captain. We’re not sure what this actually entails, but we’re pretty sure that seeing The Hoff fist-pumping/convulsing shirtless to Knife Party’s ‘Internet Friends‘ makes it worth the price of admission alone.
While music may be the main focus, Asia’s largest ship festival provides plenty of other activities: A casino if you want to try your luck with Gamblor, a mini golf course if you’d like to putt along with Lee Carvallo, and a basketball court if you’d like to go hard in the paint like Ralph Wiggum. Oh yeah, there’s also whirlpools for a little bit of relaxation. We love whirlpools!
According to Inthemix, It’s The Ship hosted around 4000 guests last year, with a strong Australian contingent of 400 punters on board. Seeing as we’re just a stone’s throw away from Singapore, this is a pretty neat idea if you’re looking for a sneaky holiday away in Asia!
