Celebrating the Fourth of July in style.

It seems like Kendrick Lamar and Barack Obama’s relationship is stronger than ever, with the Compton emcee helping celebrate his last Independence Day as the President of the United States at The White House.

The Fourth of July soiree – which also doubled as Malia Obama’s 18th birthday celebrations – saw Lamar perform a 20-minute set filled with hit singles spanning his career, from Section.80 to To Pimp a Butterfly. How about this for a setlist: ‘Swimming Pools’, ‘Money Trees’, ‘Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe’, ‘Poetic Justice’, ‘A.D.H.D’, and ‘Alright’. Huge! Also, ‘Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe’ was expertly censored, because we aren’t allowed swears at The White House.

Last year, Obama named Lamar’s ‘How Much A Dollar Cost’ as his favourite song of 2015, and Lamar even visited The White House to discuss social issues and Obama’s mentoring program, My Brother’s Keeper. Oh yeah, he also pulled a pretty strong rap squat in the building with his TDE colleagues. See Lamar’s succinct and highly enjoyable set below:
