Having hosted everybody from Skegss to Antwon in the past, Sounds of the Suburbs has thrived on presenting diverse line-ups of underground and emerging talent – and 2016 is no different, bringing three action-packed stages to Wilber Lane in Cronulla come September 25. The lads from the fest have been kind enough to give us an exclusive early announce of the 2016 roster, and it’s pretty darn great. Fresh off a manic tour with Violent Soho and Dune Rats, DZ Deathrays will be headlining the festival and proving once again why they’re the country’s most rambunctious duo. Representing the international contingent, Guantanamo Baywatch will be flying over from the States to show that they have some solid tunes as well as the best band name of all time.
We premiered Wild Honey’s video for ‘Pull It Together‘ which is why we’re super stoked to see them alongside Verge Collection, Big White and Peter Bibby. On top of a full day of tunes, there will be an art room displaying colourful works from local talents, while you can chow down on Mexican food from El Sol and wood-fired pizzas from Queen Margherita Of Savoy. Save us a slice! Oh yeah, did we mention that Egyptian tour management mogul Aaron Girgis is also rumoured to appear in 2016? Huge!
You heard the line-up here first – Sounds of the Suburbs is a Sunday session that’ll take you weeks to recover from, but we promise that it’ll be worth it. See the full line-up and details below, and grab your tickets right here via Oztix from 10:00am:
