The year is 2016, and it’s still hard to walk into a hip-hop club without hearing ‘No Scrubs’ or ‘Waterfalls’ – a testament to the everlasting influence of TLC.
Throughout the 90s, TLC grew to become one of the most successful girl groups of all time, having sold a whopping 65 million records worldwide to date. With an arsenal of poignant and dancefloor-friendly R&B anthems under their belt, TLC are simply irresistible – and they’ll be bringing all the classics for an Australian tour this November. Since the tragic death of Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes back in 2002, surviving members Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas have continued to carry the torch – and are slated to release their final album in 2016, their first in over a decade.
“This album, our final album, is dedicated to all of you that have stuck with us, always challenging us to do our best. And of course, it’s for the new fans too! We just want to put out great music that touches everyone. That’s it,” they said. With their sizeable Australian tour arriving on November, we’re expecting a little new material to make its way into the setlist.
Fans in Adelaide will be blessed with a double header, with fellow throwback R&B star Montell Jordan also coming along for the ride.
