From 'Boys Don't Cry'.

Frank Ocean finally released his album Blonde last weekend, which was accompanied by a video for ‘Nikes’ as well as a publication titled Boys Don’t Cry that appeared at pop-up stores across the US and UK.

Boys Don’t Cry is just part of the hype package that Frank Ocean has been able to deliver, with prices for the magazine surging well into four figures on eBay. As well as a curious poem by Kanye West dedicated to McDonald’s, the book features an extensive list of Frank Ocean’s favourite songs and movies. As expected, it’s an eclectic mix: His favourite tracks include classics from Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles, contemporaries like GoldLink and collaborator James Blake, and unsurprisingly, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ by recent Australian visitors and emo forefathers The Cure.

When it comes to film, Ocean seems to have a preference for Kubrick and Tarantino – how many of these have you ticked off the list? See the complete list of his favourite songs and movies below and see what inspires greatness. After that, give Blonde a few more spins, it’s kinda great:
