Our good pal DJ Leon Smith – who’s long earned the title of Australia’s Number. 1 Strip Club DJ – is celebrating yet another year of blessing your earholes with the best pole-dancing anthems in the history of music. This time, his infamous ratchet-ass birthday tour is going all across the country, and this weekend sees a dose of double trouble at Dollhouse Nightspot. On both Friday and Saturday night, Leonard will be gracing the steamy Kings Cross establishment with his presence, so expect a thorough masterclass on how to play music that gets gigantic asses shaking with tremendous vigour. Go along and wish Leonard a happy birthday and maybe even buy him a spongecake! #DJLS4PM

Australian hip-hop maestro Drapht will be making the trip from the West Coast for a headline show in Sydney this Saturday night, off the back of his formidable new album Seven Mirrors. Along with considerable radio airplay over the years, Drapht has proven himself to be one of our more consistent emcees – while Spit Syndicate also named him as one of Australia’s best rappers of all time. In their words, he’s “a manic perfectionist… a true master of flow; he possesses an incredible elasticity with his words which allows him to make them bend and stretch.”

The grime rave will be hitting Hudson Ballroom – formerly known as Plan B Small Club and Goodgod Small Club before that – with the city’s finest selectors specialising in the fierce UK sound. Along with regulars like Max Gosford and Moriarty, Denzel Sterling of the Sidechains collective will be dropping heaters at the event. Head down here in a full tracksuit and your Air Max 110s.

Holy hell, it’s about time that the god himself French Montana got his own celebratory night, and we plan to be there with bells on and yelling ‘HAAAAAN’ in the ears of everybody in the vicinity. Hailing from the birthplace of hip-hop, the Bronx, French Montana has spent the past few years delivering some of the most ignorant rap anthems in recent memory including ‘Pop That’ and ‘Ocho Cinco’, backed up by a solid mixtape game and generally being a goofball. He also has a pet monkey named Julius Caesar and dated Khloe Kardashian, so there’s that. Coke Boys, baby!

This is the big one. If you’ve ever had a great night out on the town and believe that Sydney deserves world-class nightlife, then we can’t urge you enough to turn up to the second Keep Sydney Open rally this Sunday afternoon. It’s all kicking off at midday at Belmore Park before stretching throughout the CBD, and we’re confident that Sydneysiders are going to turn up in the thousands to express their frustrations with the lockout laws. We’ve spent our lives photographing and documenting Sydney’s party scene, and would like to do so for many more years to come. Keep Sydney Open.
