Another controversial compilation.

October 20, 2016

DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 list always manages to create a furor everytime it’s released, and 2016 is no different – with the results having just been revealed from their live show in Amsterdam.

This year’s Top 100 list features the biggest in house, electro and beyond with fustpumping favourites like David Guetta, Afrojack and Hardwell all breaking into the Top 10. Australia was represented by Nervo, Will Sparks, Timmy Trumpet as well as Flume, who marked his debut entry into the list by sliding in at Number 94. DJ Snake, Diplo and Carnage also made appearances for some more bass-heavy additions.

Taking out the Number. 1 spot was none other than young prodigy Martin Garrix, with his single ‘In The Name Of Love’ currently doing the rounds on radio and festivals across the globe. At 20 years old, he is the youngest ever DJ to take the title. Perhaps most excitingly for Australian fans, Garrix will be touring across Australia in early 2017 alongside Justin Bieber, marking his first visit since Future Music Festival last year.

“It feels unreal to have won. I 100% did not expect it at all. I’ve had an amazing year, with awesome shows and amazing fans — I’m so thankful for their support. It just shows how dope the fan-base is,” Garrix said.

We’re sure that there are a lot of selectors who will gladly take aim at DJ Mag for their list, but it seems as though the Top 100 list isn’t disappearing anytime soon – 2016 was the first year that there were over 1 million votes cast from around the world. Read the full list below:
