Feki will be performing at the Countdown To FOMO parties (and FOMO festival itself) alongside Slumberjack in Rouse Hill, Newcastle and Mona Vale, which looks to bring the party to the smaller towns and communities in the state. Still, we’re betting that these gigs will be just as rowdy if not substantially rowdier than anything you’ll find in the CBD – and Feki has stepped in for a 24-minute teaser to show us what he’ll be doing behind the decks.
While he might be known for his more intricate and restrained approach to electronica, Feki can still get the dancefloor poppin’ – and his mix includes contemporary Australian electronica pioneers like Chet Faker, Ta-ku and Flume, all of whom similarly pull from more soulful influences with their beat-making. Feki has included some of his own remixes and originals in the cut, making for some easy afternoon listening.
You can listen to Feki’s Countdown To FOMO mix below, where you’ll also find a quick interview with the man himself. Grab your tickets to Countdown To FOMO here:
It’s definitely brought a better festival culture to Brisbane.
I’ll be treating these shows as if people have never heard of me. So I’ll be playing sets that will resonate more so with the crowd but with my own tasteful spin on it. I’ll still be playing a lot of original and unreleased music tho. That’s always a must when you’re a producer haha.
Haha I used to play Rugby League, so for me it’s Joey Johns for sure.
Oh Metro Boomin hands down. The hits this guy has produced are just huge so for me its an obvious choice.
I’m still piecing together and figuring out what it is I want my ‘live’ show to be. But yeah, we’re definitely looking at doing something special, especially for my home city in Brisbane.
Missing out on Jamie xx live last year.
Haha not planning on it all, but who knows ;)
I’ve been saying this for a long time but I’m still trying to piece together an EP that I can be proud of. I’ve had 2 EP’s that were pretty much ready to go but then I bailed on them in the last minute. So right now, just writing a whole bunch of new music. Next year is the year though. No more flaking around!
Twisties Zig Zags. Those things are impossible to find anywhere, smh.
