Longtime grime supporter Shantan Wantan Ichiban is teaming up with Yemisul (IZMZ/GIRLS) for a new night celebrating all that is raw and rugged from the UK. Having been treated to tours from Skepta, Stormzy, D Double E, Novelist and more in recent years, it’s no surprise that grime fans Down Under are aching for something more – and Mad Ting looks to provide with its inaugural edition at Hudson Ballroom. The pair have recruited Max Gosford (Low Motion) and DJ Atro (Slim Set) to keep the dancefloor moving. Entry is $10 or $5 if you wear a full tracksuit – huge! Dust off your Lacoste, Reebok, Nike, Sergio, Fila, Ellesse or Adidas and save yourself some cash money.
Bad news, everyone: Harbourlife is completely sold out. Good news, everyone: Fred Falke is playing a headline show at Oxford Art Factory for all you slackers who didn’t get a ticket in time. It’s part of Oxford Art Factory’s LTR ON series, with the French producer taking the stage after Le Fruit warm things up from 11:00pm. If you love house but get anxious and claustrophobic at the thought of a festival, then this one might be for you.
Do you guys know what real DJing is? Paris Hilton is in Australia to promote her new Gold Rush fragrance. She decided to throw in some DJ dates while she’s here, because why the hell not? Killing two birds with one stone, the socialite queen is set to give a masterclass in DJing this weekend and hopefully some bangers from her own solo career like ‘Stars Are Blind’. The show is going down at Marquee, because of course it is. You know you want to attend, stop lying to yourself.
Honey Club is expanding from its usual home at Tokyo Sing Song, taking over The Lord Gladstone this Saturday night. All female DJ lineups delivering all female jams, from disco to hip-hop – in-house ladies Matka and G COO will be spearheading the event with Sports and Yemisul once more.
More live murals to please your eyeballs in the ultimate Sunday session! It’s another edition of Sunday Walls at The Lord Gladstone, with Louder Than Letters focusing on different forms of typography created in front of your very eyes. There will be sangria jugs and also a soundtrack from Strxnger – so if you need that hangover cure, head to the Gladdy and bask in the sunlight.
