We’re not ones to dabble in politics here on LWA, but Mike Baird is retiring from politics. The implications aren’t clear just yet, but we’re sure that most 18-30 year olds will be having a nice little celebratory beverage this morning.
The news has just been revealed on his Twitter account, with Baird stating that “as I have reflected on the approaching halfway mark of our current term of government, and the opportunity it presents to refresh the Cabinet team, I have decided that this is the perfect time for me to hand the reins over to a new Premier.”
The news arrives on the eve of Keep Sydney Open’s third rally to be held in Kings Cross this Saturday, protesting Baird’s crippling lockout laws. Stay tuned for updates:
