Just how far are you willing to go for Instagram?
For Russian model Viktoria Odintcova, there’s seemingly no limit when it comes to the quest for double-taps and creating engaging content for her followers, and it’s pretty easy to see why there’s over 3.3 million of them glued to her feed:
But in 2017 it’s no longer adequate to post a selfie with good lighting and a cute puppy. No, you have to be creative about your impromptu photoshoots, and Odintcova has levelled all the way up by scaling one of the world’s tallest buildings and creating a death-defying stunt without ropes or harnesses. Yes, this is batshit crazy.
Taking to The Cayan Tower in Dubai, Odintcova scales up 73 levels with a male accomplice who then firmly grasps her hand as she leans off the edge of the building. Still, not content with the angles, she then climbs down and actually dangles off the building in a stunt that could either be described as kinda brave or downright fucking stupid. Several news outlets are reporting that Odintcova has since been summoned to sign a document that ensures she will no longer perform dangerous stunts in Dubai. And in the understatement of the year, Major-General Khalil Ibrahim al-Mansouri of the Dubai police said “what the young Russian woman had done represents a danger to her life.”
Meanwhile, Odintcova seems pretty chuffed, saying “I still can’t believe I did it. Every time I watch the video my palms go sweaty.”
