While the Nike Cortez has largely stayed off of the sneaker hype train, it’s long been a Los Angeles street staple – and it’s set to come roaring back globally at the beginning of June.

For their latest campaign, Nike have recruited omnipresent star Bella Hadid to rock the shoe’s OG iteration, with red and blue hues made famous from a cameo in Forrest Gump. Here, Bella wears the Cortez poolside and in a car with a range of neck-snapping swoosh accessories, as well as a skateboarding pose which pays homage to Farrah Fawcett’s famous image from the set of Charlie’s Angels.

The Cortez is set to return on June 1st, and will also receive the jewel swoosh treatment which has already blessed the Air Force 1 and Air Max 1. Moreover, the Cortez will also acknowledge its special place in West Coast culture with two sneakers dedicated to Compton and Long Beach. Sitting at the cheaper end of Nike Sportswear’s range, it’s a sneaker essential that should be in everybody’s wardrobe. In the meantime, here’s Bella:
