The Red Bull Music Academy Weekender will be hitting Sydney once again from Thursday, August 31 to Sunday, September 3, bringing a stack of local and international talents to venues across the city.

In a city ravaged by lockout laws, it seems all too fitting that the Red Bull Music Academy Weekender is here to remind us that fun still is very much possible – and they’ve done it in convincing fashion with four blockbuster days of tunes. There’s almost too many acts to name, but we’ve got our eye on ABRA’s debut Australian appearance at Manning Bar on Friday, bolstered by a rock solid local line-up featuring Sydney’s own Manu Crooks, Kwame and Flex Mami.

On Saturday night, longstanding institutions Zanzibar and Mad Racket will be fusing at Marrickville Bowling Club for an all-night display of all things house, with veteran Tony Humphries on headline duties.

To close it all off, Sydney’s most prominent block party-starters One Day will be taking over Max Watts on Sunday to celebrate rap, R&B and dancehall – with live acts like Remi, Jackie Onassis and B Wise sandwiched between selectors like Nes, Shantan Wantan Ichiban and Klasik.

All the parties will run alongside talks, seminars and VR experiences happening all over the city. See all the gigs below, and grab tickets to your party of choice right here:
