If you thought Chuck Trailer’s in Bondi was rowdy, last night proved York Street is taking things to another level. The city’s newest late-night beast threw open its doors, and from the first sip to the last riff, it was absolute carnage in the best way.
Upstairs, the crispy birds and disco cocktails were flying, while downstairs, the basement was pure bedlam. The half-pipe stage got its first workout with a face-melting set from Birdman, as we stopped intermittently to refresh ourselves on the Fireball bubbler or for the odd shoey.
Between the Thrasher-lined walls, truck-bed booths, and six-metre whiskey-stacked bar, it felt like a skate punk fever dream brought to life. Check out the highlights in the gallery above:
