The world’s greatest game launched in Sydney last night.

If you’ve ever been near just about any gaming console in the last couple of decades, you’ll be all too familiar with EA Sports’ flagship game, and last night we got our first glimpse at the game we’ll be spending a whole heap of time with over the next 12 months (until they bring out ’25).

The event was a star-studded affair, attracting a diverse guest list of sports and lifestyle figures, media, influencers, and performers. Notable attendees included comedy trio Sooshi Mango, Rob Shehadie, Kawakawa Fox-Reo, and Eddie Simpson, among others. The event, hosted by football presenter Claudio Fabiano, featured a vibrant green “turf” red carpet, where guests enjoyed creative cocktails inspired by yellow and red cards.

A unique “What does football mean to you?” installation allowed 10 talented artists to personalise footballs, later donated to the John Moriarty Foundation for charity. DJ Mowgli May provided the soundtrack, while a gameplay room allowed attendees to experience FC 24 on PlayStation 5 consoles. Additionally, a speed-kicking net with a 360-degree camera captured impressive kicks, adding excitement to the event.

The game introduces HyperMotionV technology, translating real-world football dynamics into the virtual realm with unmatched realism. PlayStyles, optimised by Opta, bring unique player capabilities to life, while the Frostbite Engine enhances lifelike detail.

In Ultimate Team, you can develop club legends through Evolutions and unite men’s and women’s football. Player and Manager Career modes offer expanded control, and Clubs and VOLTA FOOTBALL bring friends together with cross-play, new customisation options, and realistic player development. EA SPORTS FC 24 promises a groundbreaking football gaming experience.
