Party & Bullshit

The Costa Taco crew have just dropped Costa Agave – the smooth traditional spirit that is basically the antidote to celebrity endorsed, glossy bottles that don’t live up to the hype. Naturally, we couldn’t resist this invite!

The Stanley brothers know how to throw a launch. To mark the arrival of Costa Agave – their debut spirit and the latest chapter in the Costa story – Nick and Matt invited friends and close collaborators into their residence for an intimate first tasting.

Across the night, guests sipped Costa Agave in cocktail form, stepped into the tasting room to compare it against traditional tequila and mezcal, and tucked into an off-menu taco straight from the Costa chefs. It was less “big brand launch,” more house-party-meets-test-kitchen – the perfect way to introduce a spirit built on culture and connection.

Costa Agave itself is something new: not tequila, not mezcal, but an agave spirit – mezcal’s soulful depth, tequila’s clarity, crafted in collaboration with Oaxacan producer Diego and his family. Complex but smooth, it’s a spirit made for sharing, and one that felt right at home in a margarita (or three) as the night rolled on.

This was the very first pour before Costa Agave rolls out across Costa Taco venues in September. For the Stanleys, it’s the start of a new era – one that keeps agave’s roots intact, but makes space for a fresh Australian story to grow. Check out the highlights in the gallery above:
