A celebration of Aussie surfing and the legends who’re a part of the community.

The Jack McCoy Australian Surf Film Fest opened to a packed Orpheum Theatre with the premiere of Snapt5. It was the first time the surfing community had gathered since the tragic passing of Merc Psillakis, honoured with a moving didgeridoo tribute from Scotty Romaine.

Jack’s vision was to bring the surfing tribe together on the big screen to celebrate the culture and community he’s devoted his life to – and it didn’t disappoint. Harry Bryant and Noa Dean lit up the night with stories, laughs, and sequences that had the crowd roaring, watching the film for the first time alongside everyone else.

Director Logan Dulien’s FaceTime cameo drew big cheers, but the lasting memory was a community united – celebrating surfing, honouring its legends, and carrying the stoke forward.
