Party & Bullshit
October 26, 2016

Hot collaboration alert! Whiskey heavyweights Jameson have just unveiled a new drink crafted carefully alongside Inner-West beer barons Young Henrys, fusing elements from both beverage-makers into their brand new baby Craic & Barrel.

It’s been a lengthy and careful process – according to the companies, “seasoned Jameson Irish Whiskey barrels were shipped from Ireland to Newtown, filled with an Irish Red Ale and left to marinate in the malty flavours.” Thus, Craic & Barrel was born and we’ll all have a chance to reap the rewards.

The beverage was revealed yesterday alongside other beverages including Jameson Black Barrel, The Cooper’s Croze and The Distiller’s Safe, with Jameson Master Cooper Ger Buckley and Young Henrys’ own Oscar McMahon taking lead at the latter’s brewery. It was a day of alcohol-tasting and some lessons from Buckley himself about the fine art of whiskey-making, which should be taken seriously considering he is just one of two coopers left in Ireland.

Craic & Barrel will be available from Young Henrys’ neat little watering hole in Newtown, which will also house the Crackin’ Barrels event at Sydney Craft Beer Week, taking place this Saturday October 29 at 4:00pm. Aside from that, select I-Dub pubs will be housing Craic & Barrel – so see the pictures here and keep an eye out to get a taste of greatness:
