Ain’t no mountain high enough.

We can only imagine that if you were spending your whole working week building houses, sweating it out under the hot sun six days a week, the last thing you’d want to do on the weekend is something extremely physically exertive, right? For Sydney tradie, Lewis Haines, there’s no better way to switch off than to throw his climbing gear into the car and hit the road.

Lewis regularly finds himself ditching the rat race and heading out west to the Blue Mountains to satisfy his rock climbing/adventuring cravings and disconnect from the hustle and bustle. “There’s no reception, no service. It’s a breath of fresh air. That send of freedom is definitely out there deep in the bush,” he says.

Amazingly, the 24-year-old thrillseeker taught himself how to use harnesses and pitching mounts via YouTube tutorials, proving that if you have the passion and determination, nothing is impossible. We followed Lewis on his latest expedition to see how it all goes down on his journey – check the images below and head here to follow Monteith’s Brewing Co. on Instagram and keep up to date with the rest of our Journeys series:
