Listen Out concluded its 2023 run in Sydney over the weekend in what was one of its best instalments yet. Set to a perfect summer day with not a cloud in sight, the vibes were high and Sydney was totally alive, excitement permeating the air as music lovers descended upon Centennial Park.
Unsurprisingly, all artists on the bill stepped up to the plate and then some, with homegrown treasures like Young Franco, Willo, Little Fritter B2B Wongo and more all serving up highlight sets that not only represented for the home turf, but enhanced anticipation by tenfold. A particular standout for the Sydney crowd was the history that Mt. Druitt’s own OneFour made, with their Listen Out set being their largest hometown festival show in history.
Then, of course, came the globetrotters. Rap royalty JPEGMAFIA and Lil Uzi Vert served up high energy sets that had the crowd screaming at the top of their lungs. However, it was Ice Spice and Coi Leray who owned the day on the hip hop side, both of whom setting the crowd alight as they reminded everyone why they’re two of the breakout stars of 2023.
And in accordance with previous years, dance lovers were more than taken care of, with producer besties Four Tet and Skrillex closing things down with mammoth sets of OG hits, pop edits and just pure madness. It was a massive day and to be honest, we’re still recovering. Thankfully, photographer Zoe Holling was on the ground to capture all the action. Get caught up via the gallery above:
