Following two years of postponements, queen of dance Peggy Gou finally took to Sydney’s the Roundhouse this past weekend…

Presented by Finely Tuned (the team behind Lost Sundays and Lost Paradise), the energy at night one of the two day residency was at fever pitch, fans from all across Sydney eager to put to use the tickets they’ve been holding onto for the past two years.

Starting off the night with acclaimed DJ/producer James Pepper, we were quickly let know we were in for a night of dance and spirit, the ‘Three Drops’ maestro delivering a high-octane set full of house, disco and everything in between. Following on came a B2B from veteran deckslingers Luen and Lex Deluxe, the pair dropping plenty of house and techno favourites (along with some sneaky original tunes thrown in) as the Roundhouse quickly reached capacity.

Then came the main event, globe-trotting DJ/producer Peggy Gou taking to the stage as the clock hit midnight. Punters were itching to let loose at this point, jumping on shoulders while pulling out some of the most out-there phone messages they could muster for the South Korean maestro. As expected, the ‘Han Pan’ producer more than rose to the occasion, delivering an explosive set full of plenty of original heaters such as ‘I Go’ and ‘Starry Night’, with various dance classics like the Armand Van Helden classic ‘I Want Your Soul’ thrown in for good measure.

For a two hour set, it went surprisingly quick, which just goes to show the power of the queen of dance, Peggy Gou. Get caught up via the gallery above (courtesy of Sydney photographer Jordan K. Munns), along with a special moment from ‘Starry Night’ below:
