Words by Annthoni Motti & images by Brayden Smith. Love Sticky Fingers? Head over to The Lord Gladstone pub in Chippendale, where the lads have been immortalised in a stained glass window display! Take a flick and show your mates!

Three sold out shows at The Enmore Theatre. That really speak for itself, doesn’t it? Inner-West lads Sticky Fingers are in high demand, and this show was all the evidence you needed.

The audience was chanting so loud to get the lads on stage that you would’ve been able to hear them four blocks away. As they came on, lead singer Dylan lit a cigarette, picked up a guitar and the band hit rock star level, kicking off with title track ‘Land of Pleasure’. An endless sea of girls on their shoulders and enough weed floating around to strip paint off the wall, the people were there to party and Sticky Fingers provided the goods.

They ripped trough one amazing set which was indicative of their rapid growth over the past few years. With the help of Jimmy Young of Bootleg Rascals, fan favourite ‘Caress Your Soul’ hit new heights as the audience chanted like a drunken angelic choir. ‘Gold Snafu’ brought the fire as strobes, spotlights, and fog machines set the mood, and the crowd started singing most songs before the band even got a chance to grab the mic.

Ending the main set with all the feels as they played ‘Australian Street’, bassist Paddy controlled most of the banter on stage and took the time to thank the crowd stating that “this is our neighbourhood, too, and to play a show like this is fucking everything to us.”

As the night started to draw to a close, the crowd transformed into an abyss of flying limbs and crowd surfers. Supporters upstairs sang arm-in-arm and stamped their feet with enough gusto to scare challenge those below in the mosh. The lads eventually finished up with ‘Freddy Crabs’ and the slightly more chill (but not really) ‘Lazerhead’.

Truly one night never to be forgotten, the sass, no fucks given attitude and fun these boys brought back to Sydney was truly mind-boggling. It’s no wonder they are making such serious waves around the world. Catch them next at Splendour in the Grass with the LWA crew and caress your soul.
