Anyone who’s had a big night in the city has ended up at Paddington’s Indian Home Diner at one point or another. The beloved establishment’s merging of curry dishes with kebabs has beeen a go-to attraction in the city for years on end. With news of Woollahra Council’s pressuring of the restaurant to now close at midnight or risk being fined, well, let’s just say the city isn’t going to stand for it.
So much so that last night a bunch of the biggest names in Aussie dance music came together with Uber Eats at The Unicorn Hotel last night, just up the road from Indian Home Diner, to raise money for the restaurant’s attempts to appeal the decision.
It was quite the lineup of acts as well, with DJ sets from Flight Facilities’ Hugo Gruzman, Bag Raiders, Cosmos Midnight, Lucy Lucy and more all electrifying the sold out venue into dance mayhem. It was definitely a night to remember and with all proceeds from ticket sales going to Indian Home Diner’s fight to stay open, it definitely served as a reminder that the humble restaurant is here to stay, and that it/s got all of Sydney behind it. But don’t just take our word for it, get caught up via the gallery above:
