Every year they invite musicians, producers, performers, and DJ’s to rub shoulders with top in biz and get taught by unique musicians, relevant to the time and place of the academy. In 2006, Flying Lotus and Aloe Blacc were in the Melbourne class, TaKu was in the 2008 Barcelona class, and Objekt finished in New York in 2013. It’s a very impressive group of graduates, which explains why they received 4,000 applications in 2013. Producers Lewis Cancut and Mark Maxwell, begun the tenure at Studio 301 last night with a casual chat about how amazing their Tokyo experience was, with local legend Jimmy Sing asking all the right questions. In attendance was Sydney producer Basenji, lead singer of Rüfüs, Tyrone Lindqvist, Purple Sneakers Martin Novosel, and more. A great way to kick off this “festival of ideas.”
Tune in for the next few days of RBMA’s Studio takeover with the likes of: Flight Facilities, Vic Mensa, Seekae, and Jaguar Ma & more.
