You know what they say about absence making the heart grow fonder, right? Well that’s how we’re feeling about Tuesday Without. We’d been missing the much-loved section where we share both shoots of our own and shoots by our favourite creatives, so we thought why not resurrect it and use it as a platform for going in-depth on some noteworthy collaborations. And today’s is quite the doozy – one from our pals at legendary Aussie fashion agency Sticks & Stones.
The shoot, which stars Emma-Leigh Claire, was born out of a chance encounter at a vegan restaurant during the infamous Covid lockdowns. Here Emma-Leigh met S&S head honcho Ainsley Hutchence and the two hit it off. “I asked her if she wanted to model for me and within moments of our first shoot together I realised her inner beauty shone even brighter than her perfect exterior. She has become one of my closest friends and shooting together is always magic,” Ainsley says.
From there, they enlisted hair and makeup wizard Miranda Emblem to bring to life the brief, emphasising Emma-Leighs lips and cheeks, giving her a washed-out doll look that gives the shoot a surreal and playful feeling. The mixture of film and digital also makes it seem like it all was captured from someone’s dream as opposed to the streets of Cotton Tree on the Sunshine Coast.
Sticks & Stones’ clothing brand Something Very Special takes centre stage (outside of Emma-Leigh), with their briefs and signature tracksuits shining throughout. Peep the shoot below and head here to shop the looks right now. Oh, and stay tuned for more from S&S and LWA in the coming weeks…
