Day of the Donut: A pop-up market happening this Saturday, here to release the inner fat child within us all.

Think of a drooling Homer Simpson, ready to sell his soul to Ned ‘Devil’ Flanders at any moment – for what? Those of you not obsessed with The Simpsons (shame on you) it means one thing: Donuts. They are coming to Surry Hills in full force for Day of the Donut, a whole day dedicated to the round treats. Vendors at the convention – which is being held at 1-74 Commonwealth Street – include Brewtown Newtown, Doughnut Time, Grumpy Donuts, Shortshop and more! Huge.

It all kicks off from 9:00am. Yes, I know that’s stupidly early and you should be doing a walk of shame home or waking up to find a half eaten burger laying on your pillow, but this is worth it. Totally worth it. Entry is just two bucks, but if you’re extra keen for a headstart, you can get an early riser ticket which gives you priority at 8:30am right here. The endless possibilities of donuts range from good old custard to bacon topped franken-donut creations. BACON. TOPPED. Right into the arteries, please.

Prepare to fight to the death with some yummy mummy and her annoying crying child – turns out taking candy from a baby ain’t that easy. Head down on Saturday and find all of the information on the Facebook event right here:
