Hopefully his stocks don’t take another dive this time…
Elon Musk, ever the prankster and cheeky little devil, has reduced the price of the Tesla Model S, taking it down from $71,990 USD to $69,420 USD ($101,452 AUD to $97,830 AUD).
It’s no secret Musk has got a bit of an obsession with the numbers 69 and 420, having followed 69 people at one time and at one point being caught on camera smoking weed on The Joe Rogan Experience, which inspired him to reprice Tesla stock at $4.20 a share shortly after. Oh, and his birthday is exactly 69 days after April 20th, so it seems fate has him forever linked with those two numbers.
There’s also a bit of strategy to Musk’s trolling, with rival EV startup Lucid pricing its Air Sedan at $69,900 USD ($98,078 AUD). The electric car company has also promised that the sedan would cover 406 miles (653 km), as opposed to the Tesla Model S’s 402 miles (647 km).
No doubt this is firing Elon up a bit, fingers crossed we see some more passive-aggressive trolling to come. Check the cheeky tweet below.
