Pooh and Piglet have gone to the dark side (and eaten Eeyore).

Prepare to have your childhood violated with the new Winnie the Pooh horror film, which sees a deranged Pooh and Piglet on a bloodthirsty rampage – proving that truly nothing is sacred anymore. The film, which was first announced earlier this year, has just received its first trailer.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey follows a grown-up Christopher Robin who returns to his childhood stomping ground of 100 Acre Wood with his fiancée, Mary, expecting to find his old pals just as he left them. Instead, they find the place dilapidated, complete with a shonky grave which reads ‘Eeyore R.I.P.’.

“The beloved childhood characters have been abandoned by Christopher Robin and have turned wild,” the trailer describes.

Directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield of Jagged Edge Productions, the film is not his first foray into converting beloved children’s stories into horror films, having previously produced the likes of The Curse of Humpty Dumpty and The Legend of Jack and Jill

The whole thing is only possible because A.A. Milne’s original Winnie-the-Pooh from 1926 finally entered the public domain (as of the 1st of January this year).

“Pooh and Piglet experience a drastic drop in food as Christopher grew up,” Frake-Waterfield has described of film. “Over the years they became increasingly hungry and feral. They had to resort to eating Eeyore.”

“Then Christopher returns with his wife to introduce her to his old friends. And when that happens, they get enraged when they see them.”

While there is no official release date, the trailer promises the film is coming soon.
