Celebrate the end of the week with a refreshing bev (or ten)…

It’s Friday. You made it to the end of the week. Trudged past all the deadlines, stress and just total fuck arounds inherent to the days spanning Monday to Friday, and now you’re looking for a way to send it into the weekend. And no, we don’t mean sending a Netflix or movie marathon, or going ham on some tasty takeout. But rather, hitting the town and getting properly sideways in the Inner West. And before you ask “But where am I meant to go?” and come up with a million other excuses, just hold your damn horses, because we’ve rounded up five bumping Inner West boozers just perfect for you to get loose to this Friday night.

And we’ve got some proper doozies for you today. You’re gonna be off on a cheeky little pub crawl before you know it.

Check it below.

Marley Bar

A Newtown classic, whether you’re looking at getting rowdy AF or just kicking back with the homies, the Marlborough Hotel more than has your back. Boasting a pretty awesome live music space, separate dance floor to throw down to and one of the finest smoking areas we’ve ever laid our eyes on, the bar is literally ready for all your swashbuckling needs at a moments notice. And special shoutout to Tokyo Sing Song, the hidden club below that’s a bloody haven for EDM lovers. A bar that can do it all, we’ll probably be there this Saturday. See you there!

 Blue Fig Bar

Located literally right next to the Enmore Theatre, Blue Fig Bar is a bustling hub of art and culture. With electric blue walls covered in original works of iconic artists and an eccentric drinks menu, the bar is the ultimate place to pre before a gig at the Enmore, or hell, even to spend your whole night at. Another champion of live music, Blue Fig makes an effort to support local artists, particular those of the EDM variety, hosting everything from progressive house to drum and bass nights. A personal favourite, we definitely back them. Check out some footage from one of their off chops nights below.

 The Bearded Tit

Part neighbourhood bar and part art space, The Bearded Tit embodies both sides of the artistic soul of the quiet municipality of Redfern. A space that seeks to create an atmosphere of acceptance and artistic flare, the bar goes beyond the usual watering hole to ensure punters leave feeling a distinct range of feelings and moods (as well as open them up to some of the most dynamic creatives of the inner west). Get acquainted below.

Vic On The Park

How many pubs do you know with their own basketball court!? But for real, aside from being a lively watering hole just perfect for any mood or vibe, Vic On The Park is your quintessential inner west venue. Another huge supporter of live music (probably one of the most musical-heavy in Marrickville) and being host to the likes of Milan Ring, Taj Ralph and so many more over the years, the pub is equipped to handle all your post-work piss up needs while putting you onto some of the most promising artists that the Sydney scene has to offer. Get familiar with them below.

 Websters

What better view could you imagine for your Friday night bev than a birds-eye view of King Street? Sat atop the bustling streets of Newtown, Websters bar is a prime spot for an evening feed and bevy. And take it from us, that Schnitty will have you well-sorted for the night as well. It’s the type of place where you’ll end up having a three hour chat with your mate that goes into the most random topics possible, all as you watch the world below pass you by (a sign of a proper good watering hole). Check it below.
