With the COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions hopefully finishing up soon, it’s time to start thinking about supporting the businesses that have been doing it tough. It’s pretty easy to do so – all we really have to do is go and spend money at bars, cinemas, gigs and venues, which has never really been an issue for us in the past…
Cinemas have really copped it over the past few months and whilst Hollywood will bounce back, it’s probably a good idea to pencil in a few films you want to see (when you can). So let’s make sure that kid who puts the chocolate on the choc-tops can afford to eat, and go check some of the below out on the big screen ASAP:
Director Christopher Nolan was reportedly against moving the release date of his latest blockbuster back a couple of weeks (it was originally due out July 16th), which is possibly an indication that he very keen for us to see it… Not much is known about the plot, other than there are some time-bending, James Bondish vibes happening. Still shook from Lee (John Krasinski) sacrificing himself for his children in A Quiet Place? Well you’ll soon be able to catch up with the fam and see if his act of bravery was worthwhile when the sequel drops in September. Initially it was due out in March, but thanks to our mate COVID, it was postponed. Definitely one we want to see on the big screen!

You might not have caught the trailer for this upcoming Aussie indie film but it’s already garnered plenty of buzz at film festivals around the world. Following the story of a seriously ill teenager who brings home a drug-dealer boyfriend to meet her over-protective parents, Babyteeth looks like it’s chocked full of Aussie humour, with no shortage of heart thrown in there as well.

So this film is one of those ones that, despite every inch of our body saying “it’s gonna be shit”, we will definitely end up seeing. Will we be surprised? Probably not, but we certainly are curious to see how they handle a sequel that it seems like barely anyone was asking for… What will the two 90s stoners get up to in the 2020s? Time will tell…

Do you like the kind of cinema experience where you have to clean the crap out of your pants after a viewing? Well, The Conjuring series has you covered with their latest instalment, which promises to be every bit as terrifying as the first two. What’s more scary is the fact that it’s based on true story about a man who claimed the devil made him kill his landlord in Connecticut in 1981…
