Bunch of celebrities in a room, backslapping each other, what could go wrong…
Pretty much nothing, but people have already rushed to their laptops to write off Jo Koy’s opening monologue which was a mixture of jokes and cringe-inducing attempted burns of attendees. Honestly, having seen a bit of his standup, it’s not a massive surprise that many of the jokes fell a little flat.
The awards were pretty spread out, with the Oppenheimer, Barbie, The Holdovers, Poor Things and Killers Of The Flower Moon all getting recognised in some capacity, meanwhile, The Bear, Beef and Succession dominated the TV categories. Check out the full list and Koy’s monologue below:
