2026 vibes.

June 6, 2017

Yes, Bondi might be a favourite beaching spot during summer, but don’t let the colder weather deter you from visiting the Eastern Suburbs’ favoured spot all year round.

New Zealand label Huffer made the leap over the Tasman in late 2016, establishing their first Australian store on Bondi Beach. Over the past few months, we’ve been helping the Huffer crew get acquainted with their new neighbours, testing out all the best spots for eating, drinking and generally living like a big legend. We teamed up with Huffer to bring you their guide to the 2026, consisting of five spots that you need to visit.

What are you waiting for? Read on below and jump on the 333, or if your budget allows you, Uber Black your ass there ASAP:

BONDITONY’S BURGER JOINT

LWA-1 2

Bondi Tony is a cool guy, possibly Bondi’s coolest. He’s managed to take his rock’n’roll tour promoting background and inject it into the perfect corner spot for shakes, burgers and bro-downs.

The place is plastered from floor to ceiling with tour posters, platinum records, rad art and shout outs to the man himself from some rock royalty. Even the menu reeks of band-love, with items like the Johnny Collide, Just A Jezabel and Sticky Fingers. The food itself is a wonderfully Bondi blend of classic guilty pleasures made from wholesome ingredients – where else can you enjoy a free range crumbed chicken burger and organic coconut milk chocolate shake?

Of course, we can’t pen this review without acknowledging that this humble local legend plays host to Australia’s most ordered Deliveroo item, the Trippin Zeahorse. But don’t let some push bike rider bring it to your door, get down and experience this burger hall of fame yourself.

MAMASAN/BAD MAMA

BONDI-BAD-MAMA

Kitsch meets class in what is by far our favourite Asian-inspired eatery in Bondi.

Whether you’re searching for a refined sit-down dining experience at Mamasan, or some glorious cocktails and tapas with mates (or perhaps a special someone) at Bad Mama next door, this place has you covered.

We opted for the Bad Mama experience, basking in the dim-lit, quirky ambience, with decor that nods to everything from retro Japanese culture to Venice Beach skate.

The chicken wings are a perfect example of the eclectic vibe, nailing the southern American buffalo style, with a surprise burst of of asian spice and an elegant garnish of saffron, which is really expensive and made us feel special. We also heavily support their dumpling selection, traditional Yaki grill range and sexy Salma Hayek cocktails.

Special points for the classic rock soundtrack and Spirited Away reference outside.

THE EMPORIUM BARBER

the emporium

Who said a guy can’t enjoy a nice shampoo and refreshing hot towel experience?

We love anywhere that makes us look dapper, but Emporium has taken the male grooming experience to the next level with its classy fit-out, monthly ‘Manliness Bulletins’ and legendary barbers. $39 gets you a haircut, shampoo and conditioner-laden head massage, a drink of your choice (with coffee and some choice beer on the menu), and yes, the most refreshing hot towel known to Bondi.

What began in Brisbane is rapidly becoming the spot for all your grooming needs.

THE DEPOT

P2102726

If you’re looking to start your day in a spectacular fashion, look no further than The Depot.
Overlooking Sydney’s most popular beach from the beautiful North aspect of Ben Buckler, this much loved café will warm you up with its rustic vibes and fill your belly with some killer contemporary menu items. To break our fast, we rolled with the light and fluffy Peas Please, and deliciously hearty Caveman Eggs – adding bacon to both… because bacon.

Food aside, we have to talk about the sheer skill these guys have with turmeric. Anywhere we can go to kick off the morning with some tasty orange goodness in a latte AND smoothie gets a big tick from us.

FISHBOWL

70-2

This joint had us sold on it’s Dogtown-inspired look and groovy house tunes before we’d even had a taste.

Poke is a recent chic culinary option on the Sydney scene, but boy is it taking off quickly. In just a year, the Fishbowl crew have opened in Surry Hills and are in the process of opening a Manly store, and it’s not hard to see why.

The Hawaiian sashimi salad is an incredibly fresh, healthy option for lunch, perfectly complimented by the beach straight across the road. Fishbowl nod to the Japanese sashimi culture as well, adding edamame and some crazy dressings into the mix, like wasabi ponzu and miso tahini.

If you’re stuck for choice we can’t go past the O.G., as Action Bronson would say, fuck that’s delicious.
