Huge! The lockout laws have been an absolute plague on Sydney’s nightlife scene, but we were delivered a glimmer of hope when a Supreme Court ruling declared that live music venues and strip clubs would be exempt from the laws. While the government is currently appealing the landmark decision, it means that venues like Oxford Art Factory, Smoking Panda, Men’s Gallery, Pure Platinum and Dollhouse Nightspot will not be subject to the controversial lockout laws – so you can make it rain to your hearts content with pole-dancers aplenty. We’re yet to see what actually constitutes a live music venue, but this seems to be the first major step in the long road to recovery for Sydney’s club circuit.

Drake and Kanye West have both underdelivered with their previous collaboration albums, but hopefully this one hits the spot! After teasing a project with Kanye West at OVO Fest earlier this month, billboards have now begun popping up in Los Angeles reading ‘Calabasas is the new Abu Dhabi.’ We have no idea what the hell this means, but more interestingly, the billboard also features G.O.O.D Music and OVO logos on the bottom. Yep, we’ll take that as confirmation, especially since G.O.O.D Music themselves have re-tweeted the image. A joint project between the world’s two biggest rappers? Consider the Internet broken.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRsYzxjLmm0 It’s hard to believe that it’s been 17 years since The Blair Witch Project made you shit your pants in all of its grainy glory, and now comes the similarly-titled Blair Witch set to hit the big screens on September 16. The trailer above gives you a good idea of what you’re in for: Mainly a lengthy list of reasons why you shouldn’t go frolicking in the woods, and how doing so will probably get your murdered. A sequel to the OG Blair Witch film was released back in 2000, but everybody said that it sucked, so hopefully this is enough to re-instill some gory greatness into the franchise.
Nike love resurrecting old models from the archives, but they also love tampering with the OGs. This has produced mixed results: While the updated flyknit models of the Air Max 1 turned out nifty, some old heads were saddened when the Air Max 96 was brought back for the first time in 20 years – with an updated sole featuring streamlined bubbles seen on the Air Max 95 Ultra. Now, they’ve done the same to the Air Max 96 SE, an underrated classic from Nike’s most obnoxious era of Air Max design. This looks like a shoe your dad would wear if your dad was a drug dealer, and we mean that in the best way possible. No word on a release date, but we’re a little keen on this one despite the alterations.

Yep! Another day, another story involving Drake and a billboard. Next to you hear someone say ‘relationship goals’, show them this goddamn photo: Drake got Rihanna a giant congratulatory billboard as she’s just received a Video Vanguard award at the MTV VMAs. While most of us struggle to get our spouse to pay for a Zinger burger from KFC, RiRi is out here stunting with her own billboard – re-posting the image with love heart emojis and a caption reading ‘when he extra’. Extra, indeed.
