John Cena might be taking his combat skills outside of the WWE ring, with suggestions that he may be the next Captain America.
It’s rumoured that Chris Evans will retire from the Captain America role after Captain America 4 hits the screens in May 2019, with the actor saying on social media, “Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least… Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.”
Now, the eyebrow-raising contender of John Cena has joined the list of potential superhero replacements. The WWE star took to Instagram to post a photo of Captain America’s iconic shield somewhat randomly, prompting suggestions that he could be spearheading the role. The fact that Cena didn’t post a caption makes the post all the more cryptic – we’ll have to wait and see if he ups his Hollywood portfolio once more.
