The cast of the hit TV show have been spotted meeting in South Melbourne…
In what’s sure to be welcome news to adherents of the Aussie sit-com, the cast of the iconic series Kath & Kim are set to reunite for the show’s 20th anniversary. Set to air later this year, the reunion special will see cast members Gina Riley, Jane Turner, Magda Szubanski, Glenn Robbins and Peter Rowsthorn come together to reflect on their experience making the TV show over the years.
Similar to the critically acclaimed Friends reboot HBO recently did, the cast will revisit pivotal moments from the show’s storied history and talk about their favourite moments from its four season history.
As for a reboot, fans shouldn’t hold their breath, with Sharon actress Magda Szubanski shooting down any hopes for the Aussie stars to return to Fountain Lakes, stating last year, “”I think it should be off the table. It holds such a special place in people’s memories… I think you can never capture that magic again.” Szubanski occasionally brings out her infamous portrayal of Sharon here and there, however, most notably with Kim Kardashion for an Uber Eats ad in 2019.
It looks like the reunion of Australia’s most chaotic and loveable family is set to be a grand affair. No word yet on when it’s set to air, but for now, check out some of the most iconic moments from the show below.
