One hell of a loose time.

With winter season providing premium snowfall for Thredbo, it was a no-brainer for us to head down for a weekend on the slopes – and this time, we let Oz Snow and Ultimate Ears curate the trip.

It’s nice to have a little getaway where somebody else takes the reigns and organises everything for you – literally all you have to do is pack a knitted sweater and turn up… And turn up we did. We arrived at Central Station for the drive to Thredbo, which takes just over five hours on the road. Still, time flies when you’re on a party bus with a large assortment of liquor at your disposal, being free-poured in the comfort of your own seat. No need for roadies, they’ve got all the spirits on deck. Now that’s service:

After arriving at Thredbo and having a few more beverages before bed, we woke up to a perfect morning and a hard day ahead on the slopes. Here’s the whole damn crew:

From now on we’re not traveling by any other method other than chairlift. Sorry:

After that, it was time to head to The River Inn to let loose. Old mate knows how to get it done:

And our pals from Spit Syndicate were performing live! The Inner-West heroes got it done with conviction, and having released their single ‘Know Better’ awhile back, you can expect another full-length from the duo this year. Shouts to Jimmy Nice and Nick Lupi for warming up Thredbo with those heaters, see the full gallery from the gig right here. FOMO alert:

The next day we were back on the slopes, and had some portable tunes thanks to Ultimate Ears:

Just delivering some bangers to Thredbo via snowboard, don’t mind me:

And that’s a wrap! The next day we headed back on the bus to Sydney, weathered but ultimately happy to have a weekend away in the snow. It was distinctly more quiet on the way back up, but that’s to be expected when you fit in this many activities into a weekend. Until next time, Thredbo:
