Shaking things up and adding a little flare to the mix, Michael Keaton is in talks to reprise the role of Batman, more than 25 tears since he last played him in 1992’s Batman Returns. But it won’t be for a stand-alone film. Rather, if all goes according to plan, Keaton will play the caped crusader in the Warner Bro’s DC movie The Flash.
Ezra Miller, who played The Flash in Batman vs Superman & Justice League, is already on board to play the role of Barry Allen, with It filmmaker Andy Muschietti on directorial duties. It’s also reported that if Keaton signs on for The Flash, he’ll also be returning for several other DC projects currently in development. But he won’t be the main hero, rather taking on more of a mentor/ string puller role, similar to Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury in the Marvel movies.
The Flash is also said to involve time & inter-dimensional travel, being a proponent of the idea that all DC movies exist in their own timeline. Thus, characters will be able to “cross over” from one movie universe to the next, which will no doubt make for some amazing plots. It’s said to start production in London later this year, fingers crossed it happens and that Keaton jumps on board…
