No doubt this is gonna rake in huge numbers…

Netflix has delivered music to the ears of comedy fans, announcing that they’ll be pulling together the worlds biggest comedians for their Netflix Is a Joke Festival in April. Among acts like Dave Chapelle and Kevin Hart, comedians Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman and many more will be gracing the bill of the special event.

“It’s our honour to transform LA for one week into the funniest place on earth. This festival is a unique celebration of the art of comedy, and the role it plays in reflecting our lives and defining culture. It’s a chance for comedy lovers to come together and see their favourite artists as well as discover new ones,” said Netflix chief content office Ted Sarandos.

All in all, there’ll be over 100 live shows across 20 venues, with Chapelle headlining with a performance at the Hollywood Bowl. There’ll also be a LGBTQ+ comedy showcase, led by Wanda Sykes, Hannah Gadsby and British talk show host Graham Norton.

A majority of the sets are expected to be recorded for Netflix, dropping sometime later this year.
