Not sure if I’m ready for another season just yet…

Following months of rumours and hints, Netflix has finally announced Squid Game season two via a very Squid Game-esque video shared online.

The short teaser focuses on a close-up of The Doll, with a baby-reminiscent lullaby playing in the background. It seems The Doll (AKA Young-hee) is front and centre in this upcoming season, with creator of the show Hwang Dong-hyuk teasing that the boyfriend of Young-hee will finally be making an appearance in this upcoming slate of episodes.

In addition to The Doll’s boyfriend, the show runner has also hinted at several more returns, alluding to “The man in the suit with ddakji” and “The Front Man” as season two returnees.

It seems however that the release of the new episodes is still a ways off, with Hwang Dong-hyuk explaining in a recent interview that late 2023 would be the earliest the popular show would be hitting Netflix accounts across the world. But still, it’s still welcome news for adherents of the series. Check out the season two teaser below.
