Living in the world of remakes and spinoffs, it can sometimes be a bit hacky to see old foes come back into the frame, or cameos from series crossover, and sometimes it’s works like a charm. It seems that writers of Creed II have taken this path by introducing the son of Rocky IV villain Ivan Drago in the new trailer for the film.
It features a drawly (or powerful, I can’t tell) monologue from Sylvester Stallone, who plays former world champion Rocky, in which he encourages Creed (Michael B. Jordan) to walk away from the fight with the “dangerous” Drago. At least I think that’s what he says, before Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Loyalty’ takes over.
No word yet on an Australian release date, the film hits US cinemas in November.
