Can’t really fail when you have Jodie Foster…

When Jodie Foster was announced to be starring in the new season of True Detective, the world was instantly sold on the Hollywood legend returning to her TV and neo-noir/horror roots. However, the trailer for the upcoming season that has confirmed our hopes, with the new sneak peak showing the thrilling return to form for the beloved drama.

The new trailer shows foster in her role as police chief as she investigates the mysterious disappearance of eight men from the Tsalal Arctic Research Station. She quickly makes a startling revelation in the two minute teasr, asserting that the victims of night countries latest murder were alive before they were frozen. Foster’s co-star and detective partner, Evangeline Navarro, portrayed by (Kali Reis) holds her own against the Hollywood heavyweight as well, as the pair make their way through the desolate Alaska setting in search of answers.

The trailer ends with a foreboding montage, however, with the pair both coming up against threatening psychopaths (including what looks like a literal zombie) along with Foster who appears to be drowning in the final shot. It’s a startling, but excitement inducing trailer to say the least. Check it out in full below:
