Everyone’s favourite awkward comedy, The Office, left a Michael Scott-shaped hole in our hearts when it came to a conclusion in 2013, the beloved mockumentary of paper company Dunder Mifflin and its staff’s many exploits becoming an integral part of pop culture. Although, it’s more than fair to say that once it lost its series lead in Steve Carell, the show started to fall off, despite signing on heavy hitters like James Spade and Dr Who alum Catherine Tate to act in his stead in subsequent seasons.
Still, we’ll never forget the good times it brought us over the years, especially now that its reportedly getting a reboot, as according to a report by Matt Belloni for Puck. Specifically, it seems that now that the Writers Guild of America have seemingly ended their strike, the momentum behind the reboot has hit full force, with a deal already having been made between studios and streaming platforms for the new iteration of the show. Now, the reboot will allegedly be announced along with a string of other titles that had been shelved while the WGA waged war on Hollywood.
To make things seem more promising, OG showrunner, Greg Daniels, is reportedly attached to the reboot. It’s definitely a good sign that the man behind the best seasons of the US version of the show (seasons one to four) is back in the drivers seat, despite the various reservations about the reboot its fandom has already expressed online.
The Office has been my favorite sitcom for a very long time and I’ll be the first one to say that this is a horrible idea https://t.co/FaYvDLdjRC

No word yet on whether the original cast is set to return, however, which is personally my biggest requirement for the show. Needless to say, you can’t recreate the magic that Steve Carrell, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer and more all had on screen together, no matter how many years later you reboot the show. Check out some of the funniest moments of the show below and keep your fingers crossed that Steve Carrell and co. all decide to reprise their roles.
