Noe entering its 44th edition, Pirelli have recruited the world’s leading actresses for its 2017 calendar, shot by Peter Lindbergh.

Titled ‘Emotional’, Lindbergh says that he aimed “to create a calendar not around perfect bodies, but on sensitivity and emotion, stripping down to the very soul of the sitters, who thus become more nude than naked.” Some of the subjects for 2017 include Penelope Cruz, Uma Thurman, Nicole Kidman and more. The German photographer is now the only person to shoot the Pirelli calendar three times, having taken the images between May and June of 2016 in five different locations around the globe: Berlin, Los Angeles, New York, London and Le Touquet.

“In a time when women are represented in the media and everywhere else, as ambassadors of perfection and youth, I thought it was important to remind everyone that there is a different beauty, more real and truthful and not manipulated by commercial or any other interests, a beauty which speaks about individuality, courage to be yourself and your own private sensibility,” he explained.
