After dominating the hip hop and pop genres, Los Angeles star Post Malone is expanding into the wine business with his new French rosé ‘Maison No. 9’, and it’s safe to say they’re selling like hotcakes. Over only two days he’s already sold 50,000 bottles, and that’s just during pre-sale! The sales platform for the wine Vivino actually crashed on the first morning of pre-sale, because it just couldn’t handle the intense amount of orders it was getting.
The rosé is selling for $21.99 USD a bottle (about $32 AUD), and was named after Malone’s favourite tarot card, the Nine of Swords. It’s also getting mad reviews, with respected wine website Wine.com giving it a 90 out of 100.
Malone revealed the launch of the ‘Maison No. 9’ in May, announcing it as a collaborative project between himself, his manager Dre London, and his friend James Morrissey. His manager has stated that Posty “acquired, expensive wine taste” after becoming mates with Mark Wahlberg, which sounds totally believable.
The hip hop star began the whole venture into wine in February 2019, after meeting with Morrisey, an entrepreneur for Global Brand Equities, who had recently visited a vineyard in France. “We had dinner that night in LA, and five days later, I met the guys in Dublin where they were doing a show,” Posty said. “Three days later, we were in the south of France tasting the liquid at the winery. That was 10 days after the first discussion. These guys don’t wait around when they see an opportunity.”
Neither does Post, and no doubt these beauties will continue to sell in huge amounts for the foreseeable future…
