This is definitely not ideal…

In news that will have Nolan fans across the world filled with sadness, the new time/ mind bending film Tenet has been pushed back yet again, already being rescheduled twice before due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The highly-anticipated thriller was being put forth as the film to reopen movie theatres across the world, but, after a statement from Warner Bros. yesterday, that’s looking more & more unlikely.

Sharing a statement online, Warner Bros. chairman Toby Emmerich stated “We will share a new 2020 release date imminently for Tenet, Christopher Nolan’s wholly original and mind-blowing feature. We are not treating Tenet like a traditional global day-and-date release, and our upcoming marketing and distribution plans will reflect that.”

Before the most recent release, the film starring John David Washington & Robert Pattinson had been slated for an August 12 release, and a July 17 release before that. Now, it’s unclear whether the film will be out before the end of 2020, or just pushed back to 2021 altogether, much like The Batman. Regardless, we’re keen af, and although this isn’t great news, it’ll just make seeing the thriller all the more worthwhile.
