2020 has been a slow year for Hollywood and the entertainment industry as a whole, but no matter what happens, it’s clear nothing will be able to slow Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson down. Keeping up his insane work ethic, the Hobbs & Shaw actor is now hard at work bringing his autobiographical sitcom Young Rock to life, and he’s already got a huge cast lined up.
The series will follow The Rock throughout his formative years, with three separate actors playing Rock at 10, 15 and 20. The actors include Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant and Marco Polo’s Uli Latukefu. He’s also got actors lined up to play members of his family, with Ana Tuisila playing his grandmother, Stacey Leilua playing his mother, and Joseph Lee Anderson playing his late father Rocky Johnson.
Along with the cast announcement, Rock also wrote a special note to his father who passed away earlier this year.
“As you guys know my dad passed away earlier this year so this role is a special one and our first episode is dedicate to him. My dad was a true trail blazer and broke color barriers all across our country in the 60s, 70s & 80s. One half of the first black tag team champions (with Tony Atlas) my pops was a bad dude in the game. I miss him.”
Looks like this is gonna be a sitcom with a whole lot of heart, check the full cast below.
