Film megastar and all around amazing human being, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, is set to produce the new action thriller The Janson Directive, starring none other than his old rival, John Cena.
The film was originally set to star the Samoan superstar but due to a busy schedule, he had to drop out of the project as an actor. However, through Johnson’s co-founded production company, Seven Bucks Production, Johnson will remain attached as an executive producer. Instead, John Cena, the guy nobody can see, will be stepping in and taking on the central role. Johnson took to Instagram to praise his Wrestlemania rival on landing the lucrative gig.
Both Johnson and Cena are making a name for themselves in Hollywood. Johnson was listed as the most bankable star in 2017, In Australia Johnson’s last two movies alone have made a whopping $40 million. Cena has starred in scene stealing roles in comedy hits such as Trainwreck and Blockers.
The film will be an adaptation of a book of the same name written by Robert Ludlam, author of original Bourne trilogy. The movie’s plot is centred around black ops missions, sanctioned assassinations, shady government agents and all that good stuff.
The Janson Directive has no release date just yet but both stars have no shortage of projects coming up. Expect to see a lot more muscles on the big screen in the future.
