Ryan Reynolds has taken to celebrate fellow actor Will Ferrell’s birthday. In a TikTok video shared this morning, Reynolds wished the comedian well with his own take on an infamous scene from Step Brothers, the 2008 comedy film which Ferrell wrote and starred in.

Recreating a rendition of Andrea Bocelli’s ‘Por Ti Volaré’ – the song which Ferrell’s character Brennan soulfully performs towards the end of the film – Reynolds attempts to sing the lyrics, but never quite musters the courage to join in. The video is accompanied by a caption tributing the actor’s 55th birthday. “Happy Birthday, Will Ferrell!!!,” Reynolds wrote.

Fans of Step Brothers will recall that the Italian song was pivotal in the Step Brothers’ central bromance, as Brennan takes to the stage at his mother’s wedding while enemy-turned-soulmate Dale (played by John C Riley) provides support on his drum set (post-nutsack). The two stars are set to appear in the upcoming Christman movie Spirited, which will premiere on Apple TV later this year.
